What Lakeway Highlands homes are like

This is a master planned community built in numbered phases, starting with Phase 1 and its first eight sections. Newer phases added in 2020 came in at 28 lots each, so construction has kept moving for years. The typical plan is four or five bedrooms on a lot close to half an acre, and many back to greenbelt. The Crosswind Drive and Hornsby Bend area is part of the neighborhood. Prices cluster around a median of $860K with plenty reaching $1.5M. Lakeway Highlands HOA covers the community, and there is no gate.

Because homes were built across more than a decade, you find different eras side by side. Early builds are settling into their landscaping while the newest streets still have bare lots, fresh sod and active framing crews. That mix shapes what the glass looks like from one street to the next.

What Lakeway Highlands windows deal with

Construction dust is the first thing to mention. Where lots are still being built, fine dust and drywall powder travel on the wind and settle on glass and screens. New homes also carry sticker residue, paint flecks and stucco splatter from the build. Beyond that, greenbelt lots bring spider webs, leaf debris and pollen. Cedar season runs December to February and live oak pollen follows in March and April.

New builds often have large picture windows and tall stair glass that are hard to reach. Sprinkler spray from half acre lawns also hits lower panes and leaves white spots.
