What Homestead homes are like

The Homestead is built around views. Homes sit on lots of an acre or more, many on hilltops, and the newer Mediterranean and Hill Country designs lean into that with big glass facing the valley. Sizes run from 3,500 to 6,500 square feet, and prices start around $1M and go past $2M. There is a Homestead HOA and a MUD, but no gate at the entrance. Roofs are often tile or standing seam, walls are stucco or limestone, and the entries tend to be grand, with tall doors and clerestory windows high above the foyer.

Hilltop houses get wind, and wind carries dust. Open lots around The Homestead mean fine limestone dust and construction grit blow across the glass all year, and nearby building does not help. Cedar pollen coats everything from December through February, and live oak pollen follows in March and April. Sprinklers watering a large lawn leave hard water spots on lower panes and sometimes overspray the upper ones too. Because these houses are big, we often book a half day and pair windows with a soft wash on stucco or limestone, which we never pressure wash. A skid with 200 gallons on board means we are not tied to your spigot. Homes this size also pair well with a gutter cleaning, and we price flatwork separately at $0.18 per square foot for concrete.
